LABUAN: The State Government should seriously consider the once proposed Kinabalu cable car project in view of the record 61 climbers who were injured while climbing Mount Kinabalu last year.
“Cable car service to at least 11,000ft at Panar Laban would attract more tourists to Sabah besides enabling those unable to climb due to age or sickness the experience of being at the highest point of Borneo.”
Former Kota Kinabalu Member of Parliament Datuk Hiew King Cheu said this would also make Sabah unique as it would boast not only access to the northern most Tip of Borneo (Kudat’s Simpang Mengayau) but also its highest point.
