MANILA, Philippines — Executive Secretary Ralph Recto on Friday assured the public that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. remains fit to lead, dismissing what he described as baseless rumors about the President’s health from a “few weak-minded critics.”

Recto issued the statement as he also confirmed that he and Marcos would comply with a directive from the Supreme Court of the Philippines to comment on a petition seeking the disclosure of the President’s medical examination report.

Speaking during an aid distribution event at the Batangas Province Events Center in Batangas City, Recto described the 68-year-old President as a “master of multitasking” who maintains an intense work pace both inside and outside Malacañang.

“I think reports even serve as his pillow at night. That is not the style of a ‘low-batt’ leader, unlike the baseless attacks coming from a few weak-minded critics,” Recto said.

“This is a high-energy presidency of a healthy leader—no wheelchair, no cane, and not frail or weak,” he added.
