Red cross deploys 1,890 personnel, volunteers for Undas

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) is deploying 1,890 staff and trained volunteers nationwide from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3 to provide emergency assistance to travelers during Undas 2026.

The PRC said its 102 chapters have established 322 first aid stations in high-density areas across the country, supported by 69 ambulances and 19 emergency response vehicles.

The deployment includes 89 combined first aid and ambulance stations, 233 first aid stations, 158 welfare desks, 107 mobile units and 107 on-foot patrol teams.

PRC responders will cover 247 cemeteries, eight seaports, eight highway and gas station posts, seven bus terminals, two airports and other public transit areas and chapter bases.

PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard J. Gordon urged travelers to prepare for their trips and consider the agency’s SafeCard program, which provides access to emergency ambulance services and blood supply support in case of road accidents, as well as financial coverage for accidental death, disablement and medical reimbursement during travel.

“Undas is a sacred time for Filipino families to gather and remember their loved ones. While our emergency teams and ambulances are on the ground nationwide, true safety begins with preparation,” Gordon said in a statement on Friday.
