Former Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has come to the defense of a Manchester United player.
Redknapp, who has not managed in several years, slammed the treatment of Harry Maguire in the press and by supporters.
Maguire, who was stripped of the United captaincy in the summer, has been back in the starting line up in recent weeks.
Speaking to BetVictor, Redknapp said: "Harry has had so much stick over the last couple of years and a lot of it has been completely rubbish.
"He's been out of favour, but he's knuckled down and waited for his opportunity.
He was superb at Bramall Lane [win over Sheffield United in the Premier League last weekend] and hopefully the lad can build on that performance moving forward."
