Xiaomi has launched its latest budget smartphone — the Redmi A7 Pro — here in Malaysia. Despite sporting an affordable starting price of RM399, this device boasts interesting specs such as a 6.9″ 120Hz display and a huge 6,000mAh battery.

The Redmi A7 Pro is offered in two configurations in Malaysia:

  • 4GB RAM + 64GB storage – RM399
  • 4GB RAM + 128GB storage – RM449

Three colour options are available, namely Sunset Orange, Mist Blue, and Black, and Xiaomi Malaysia is offering a complimentary 2-month Spotify Premium subscription when you buy the Redmi A7 Pro, which you can redeem via the Mi Store app.

In terms of specs, the Redmi A7 Pro sports a 6.9″ 120Hz LCD display up front, featuring a resolution of 1600×720 pixels (HD+), resulting in a pixel density count of 254ppi, along with a peak brightness of 800 nits in high brightness mode (HBM).

At the heart of the device is Unisoc’s T7250 12nm octa-core processor, clocked at up to 1.8GHz, paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM that’s virtually expandable to 8GB and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

Imaging-wise, you get a 13MP f/2.2 camera at the back with a 1/3.06″ sensor, an auxiliary lens, and an 8MP f/2.0 front camera. The Redmi A7 Pro supports video recording at up to 1080p resolution at 30fps with both its front and rear sensors.

Powering the smartphone is a 6,000mAh battery that can charge at 15W via USB-C. You also get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, along with WiFi 5, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.2, and a good old 3.5mm headphone jack.

Software-wise, the Redmi A7 Pro ships out of the box running on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3, built atop Android 16.
