Xiaomi Malaysia has officially announced the arrival of the new REDMI Note 17 lineup that houses 4 total models, and it is led by the Note 17 Pro Max 5G.
Well, the battery is the main headline here as the 10,000mAh capacity is paired with 100W fast charging, so you’re getting both fast topups and multi-day usage. Well, the rest of the lineup isn’t far behind either, with the Pro model packing 8,340mAh and the standard models coming in at 7,700mAh, all built on silicon-carbon battery tech designed to hold onto 80% of their capacity even after roughly 6 years of typical use.
Durability is the other big story. The Pro Max and Pro models are the first in the industry to earn TÜV SÜD’s 5-star Titan Quality Certification, covering drop resistance, water resistance, and battery performance through some genuinely intense testing. Both Pro models carry IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K water ratings, survived a 72-hour underwater test, and are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 along with a reinforced internal frame built to absorb impact. Xiaomi’s also backing the whole series with up to six years of security updates, and the Pro Max specifically promises six years of software that still feels new.
On the experience side, the Pro Max and Pro get bright 6.83-inch displays hitting up to 3,500 nits, while the standard models offer a slightly larger 6.99-inch screen. The Pro Max runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset and adds Xiaomi’s HyperAI on top, while the whole lineup gets Google Gemini and Circle to Search baked in. Camera-wise, the Pro Max focuses on natural-looking portraits and supports 4K video recording, with AI editing tools like glare removal and background erase rounding out the package.
Design-wise, the series gets a cleaner look with a redesigned camera module and rounded corners, plus a couple of standout finishes, including a Cloud Blush option on the Pro Max that shifts from white to pink-orange under UV light.
