Liverpool hero Steve Nicol has dismissed their title chances this season.
Despite their 3-1 win at Wolves on Saturday, Nicol says their first-half struggles was proof the Reds will not be a threat to Manchester City's Premier League title.
He said on ESPN: "I've got to say, at the end of the game I was thinking about this - the first half is what tells me the reason Liverpool won't win the title this year.
"But the second half is why I think they are big favourites to be in the top four. That kind of sums up Liverpool, for me.
"You can't keep turning up away from home and performing the way they did because better teams will be too far ahead of you [to mount a fightback]. They're lucky that Wolves couldn't take their chances."
