ASUS has announced the availability of the 2026 model year ROG Zephyrus G14 (GU405) and ROG Zephyrus G16 (GU606) gaming laptops in Malaysia, with the sole Ryzen-powered model now available, whereas Intel-powered models will follow in the coming weeks. All models have been updated with latest silicon from chipmakers, including Ryzen AI 400 series from AMD, Core Ultra Series 3 (Panther Lake) from Intel, along with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs.
New ROG Zephyrus G14 / G16 Models

Keep in mind that 2026 ROG Zephyrus laptops mostly feature updated internals, with the design continues to be inherited from previous model years (the most recent redesign occurred in 2024), though there are minor visual changes. Namely, the keyboard legend has been simplified, while the LED strip on the shell is also slightly resized, though you wouldn’t really notice unless you put the 2025 (GA403, GU605) model and the 2026 model (GU405, GU606) side-by-side.
Also noteworthy is that Intel processors is now officially powering 14-inch models for the first time. Before this, all ROG Zephyrus G14 models have always been AMD-only; the script has flipped this time with the AMD only featured in one of four G14 SKUs available this year. That said, the 2025 model year AMD Zephyrus is still more powerful comparatively, given that the new SKU is considerably less beefy than the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 + RTX 5080 combination despite technically featuring a newer chip (which is simply a refresh, so you’re not missing out much).

Granted, due to the massive memory pricing spike, the pricing is far from wallet-friendly, to say the least. The top-spec ROG Zephyrus G16 with top-of-the-line Intel and NVIDIA silicon is going to breach past RM30,000 mark, which hasn’t been a common price bracket for gaming laptops to hit unless a literal desktop-replacement specialty get involved (think the likes of MSI TITAN series or the ROG Mothership back then). If you’re looking for a new Zephyrus, best double check your bank account first…
Pokdepinion: Goodness me, the prices.
