Throughout the pandemic and even now in the endemic phase, food delivery platforms have become extremely important for Malaysians who prefer having their meals at home rather than dining out.

Unfortunately, one food delivery platform in particular has been bashed rather hard by netizens over claims that it cheated customers of their money and poor customer service.

Scammed of their money

In one Facebook post by foodpanda dated Oct 7, the entire comment section was flooded with angry reactions and accusations levelled by disgruntled customers.

The first was foodpanda scamming them during the refund process, where the food delivery platform had allegedly deducted funds from their bank account despite not receiving their orders.

To top it all off, foodpanda allegedly kept pushing the blame to the banks when confronted by customers.

One customer even went as far to threaten lodging a police report against the company for its dishonest business practices.

Inefficient and expensive

Aside from money disappearing from their bank accounts without their consent, customers also accused foodpanda of failing to deliver their orders, using the excuse of customers giving the wrong address to delivery riders.

Unsurprisingly, these issues have triggered a wave of anger from netizens who had unpleasant experiences with foodpanda and called upon the company to refund them their money.

Vendors have also brought their own grouses against foodpanda, with one claiming that he didn’t receive payment since the previous week.

To add on to the company’s woes, many have also complained of how expensive foodpanda were charging them in their orders.

“Nasi lemak that is worth RM5.20 is now RM30.20 on the foodpanda app. Okay bye, uninstalling the app now.”
