Kota Kinabalu: The anti-party hopping law should be reinstated in Sabah as it was once a law in the State, said Warisan President Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal.
Shafie said Article 18(2)(d) and (e) of the State Constitution was repealed with effect from Nov 9, 1995, after Umno took over the State Government from PBS.
Article 18(2) of the State Constitution is the provision for an elected or nominated member to vacate his or her seat in the Assembly.
Shafie said there should not have been any delay for the State Government to table the Anti-Party Hopping Bill in the State.
