SANDAKAN: Residents of the Grandview Park here heaved a sigh of relief after the problem of sewage overflowing into the drains of their residential park was resolved.

The Sabah Sewerage Services Department (JPPS) solved the problem following a complaint from Elopura Assemblyman Calvin Chong.

It was learnt that the residents had complained to the authorities because the sewage problem was affecting their daily lives due to the foul smell, but no action had been taken to deal with the problem.

Chong, who conducted a survey of residential park after receiving complaints from the residents, found that there was a sewage pipeline that had leaked, causing sewage from the house’s toilet to overflow into the drain.
