Religious Affairs Minister orders JAWI to investigate a cross-dressing man during an international event in Kuala Lumpur

He wrote, “The act has invited negative reactions from society and is described as challenging religious sensitivities and cultural norms in this country. From an Islamic perspective, the act of resembling another gender is contrary to Islamic law and should not be normalised in society.”

“In this regard, I have instructed JAWI to conduct further investigations and take appropriate action in accordance with existing legal provisions,” Dr Zulkifli stressed.
