
PETALING JAYA: The Seremban sessions court today rejected a man’s plea for bail after he was charged with raping his underage daughter at Kendong, Rembau, in November last year.
Malay-language daily Utusan reported that the 47-year-old also pleaded not guilty after the charge against him was read before judge Surita Budin.
The court then set March 6 for the handover of documents and appointment of lawyers.
According to the charge, the man raped his 16-year-old daughter at a residence in Kendong, Rembau, on Nov 12, 2023.

Read more He was charged under Section 376(3) of the Penal Code, which provides for a maximum sentence of 30 years’ imprisonment and 10 strokes of the cane upon conviction.
Deputy public prosecutor Goh Hsiao Tung did not offer bail for fear that the accused would harass the victim.
Goh said that the complainant in this case was a doctor, and that the victim had been beaten after the incident.
“The accused will also be charged for that incident. The victim was living with the accused at the time of the incident,” he said.
The accused then pleaded for bail, saying he had been drunk during the incident.
“I am taking care of my father and am a disabled person. My left eye is not good anymore, and it is hard to find work being 47 years old. I do all kinds of work,” he said.
When the judge asked who would bail him out, the man said that his lover would do so. However, she was not present.
It is understood that the man will also be charged under Section 324 of the Penal Code at the Kuala Pilah sessions court today.
