Israeli settlers attacked several Palestinian villages in the West Bank early on Friday, setting fire to a mosque near Ramallah, according to Palestinian news agency WAFA.
Settlers also set fire to vehicles in the same village, it said. Attackers tore down doors in another village near Nablus, causing panic among residents, according to the report.
The Israeli military initially did not confirm the incidents.
Settler violence in the occupied West Bank has increased dramatically since the Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7, 2023. A ceasefire was agreed in October 2025.
The Israeli commander responsible for the West Bank, Avi Bluth, recently sharply condemned the settler attacks, but the Israeli military continues to face accusations it is not doing enough to prevent the violence. Some even accuse the soldiers of backing the settlers.
The latest reports of new violence come one day after tens of thousands of Israelis joint the annual Flag March in Jerusalem, a controversial event that is considered a provocation by the city's Palestinian residents.
Participants marched thorough Jerusalem's Old Town, including the Muslim Quarter, with some chanting anti-Arab insults, attacking residents and damaging shop windows, according to local media.
The march is held on Jerusalem Day and celebrates the Israeli occupation of East Jerusalem during the 1967 Six-Day War, which also saw Israel seize the West Bank.
The following day, Palestinian mark Nakba Day - Arabic for catastrophe - commemorating the mass displacement of their people and destruction of Palestinian villages that took place during the founding of the state of Israel in 1948.
