
SANDAKAN: Two police reports were lodged at the District Police Headquarters (IPD) here on Tuesday over two slanderous videos on social media that went viral in the past few days.
The viral videos allegedly slandered and linked an assemblyman to power abuse and corruption involving a clinker and cement project in Tongod and the new Housing and Urban Development Board (LPPB) project at the Tanjung Aru flat site.
Sandakan District Acting Chief of Police, Supt. Ramasamy Kuppan, said the two reports would be investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Multimedia Communications Act 1998.
Police also advised all not to make any speculations and spread any information that is not authentic.
