US envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi are on the way to Switzerland to resume peace talks, US news outlet Axios reported on Friday.
Iran and the US signed a framework agreement on Wednesday that provides for a comprehensive end to military conflicts in the region.
An initial round of talks between Iran and the US planned for Friday and aimed at advancing the framework agreement was cancelled at the last minute.
Citing a US official, Axios said Witkoff was now on the way to Switzerland to join US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, who is already there. Araghchi plans to travel there on Saturday, Axios added.
In the 60 days following the agreement, negotiators are to work towards a final deal that brings about a lasting end to the war in the region, which began with US-Israeli attacks on Iran at the end of February.
