
Kota Kinabalu: The brother of a leader of the New People’s Army (NPA) arrested in Malaysia and deported to the Philippines urged both governments to respect and ensure the protection of his brother’s rights under international and national human rights instruments.
Eric Jun Casilao, an alleged NPA leader, was arrested in Malaysia and deported to the Philippines on Monday, Philippine authorities said.
According to the Army’s 10th Infantry Division, Eric Jun is top-ranking NPA leader of the Southern Mindanao Regional Committee and is accused of killing and burying a fellow rebel fighter in a remote village in New Bataan, Davao de Oro in April 2022.
