PAPAR: Some 1,000 residents in five villages in Kinarut can now use a temporary wooden bridge at Kg Tampasak Sulim as a gabion to support the bridge was washed away by strong currents during heavy incessant rain recently.
Limbahau Assemblyman Datuk Juil Nuatim said strong river currents caused the wooden bridge to tilt on one side and become unstable as well as unsafe for motorists to pass through.
He said a contractor who was awarded to build a concrete bridge next to the temporary one is responsible to maintain the wooden bridge as well as repair it.
