A Kota Warisan restaurant has apologised after old food wrappers bearing the words ‘Allah’ and ‘Muhammad’ went viral on social media.

PETALING JAYA: The management of a restaurant in Kota Warisan, Sepang, has issued a public apology after its food packaging, which bore the words ‘Allah’, ‘Muhammad’, and ‘Masyaallah’, went viral on social media.

According to Sinar Harian, Branch manager Abdul Razak Abu Bakar stated that the packaging was an old design and that the restaurant has taken full responsibility for the oversight.

He explained that the restaurant has replaced all the old packaging with a new version across its three branches, a process that began immediately after the issue gained attention online.

Abdul Razak emphasised there was no intention to offend Muslim sensitivities, adding that the management is open to customer criticism to improve its operations.

He personally apologised on behalf of Restoran Thoulath Maju, confirming the mistake originated at the Kota Warisan premises.

Following the viral spread on platforms like Threads, the restaurant acted swiftly to change all the packaging.

The manager acknowledged the error of not previously realising the sacred words were printed on the old wrappers.

He assured that the restaurant has learned from this incident and will take steps to prevent a recurrence.

Regarding the remaining stock of old packaging, Abdul Razak confirmed it would not be discarded due to the sacred nature of the words.

He stated that the unused wrappers are being kept securely in storage instead.

Abdul Razak concluded by reiterating his sincere apology and a promise to improve the restaurant’s service standards.
