Despite the overwhelming reception for the 'Menu Rahmah' initiative, not all restaurants managed to stay afloat.
A restaurant in Bayan Lepas called 'Tong Kayu Cafe Original' recently shared on TikTok that it's no longer able to continue the said initiative. Justifying the discontinuation, owner Fakhrul confessed that economic factors and poor response had led to the painful decision.
His restaurant offered two types of menu- white rice with turmeric fried chicken and white rice with soy sauce chicken, both of which didn't meet the targeted capital.
Fakhrul, however, isn't giving up despite the disappointing outcome. Following the heartfelt video, thousands of positive comments flooded the restaurant's page, with many extending their well-wishes and support towards the business.
