We stopped by The Bread Bar at Lorong Rahim Kajai, in Taman Tun Dr Ismail for breakfast on Sunday December 8th, right after a tennis session, to celebrate my wife's birthday. Other non tennis playing breakfast “kaki” joined in making it a group of about seven.

Hungry and eager, we explored their diverse menu and left with mostly positive impressions.

The meal began with a refreshing salad, which was followed by a cannelloni dish that featured tofu skin. While the cannelloni itself was delicious, the tofu skin was a polarising choice – perhaps an acquired taste. A standout dish was the fresh corned beef sandwich, paired with mustard and thin pickle slithers. While satisfying, a small dill pickle would have added an authentic touch to the presentation.

My wife opted for the tomato soup, a toasted cheese sandwich, and a side of grilled chicken. The soup was flavourful but leaned a bit too sweet for her liking. That said, the grilled chicken and cheese sandwich rounded off her meal well.

The coffee was a highlight—rich, aromatic, and exactly what we needed after an active morning. I had an Americano with a side order of hot milk. The coffee served here is dark roasted and not acidic at all.

Overall, Bread Bar served up a pleasant dining experience with great coffee and a mix of innovative and classic breakfast offerings. A few minor tweaks could elevate it further, but it’s definitely worth a visit.

Tips: Car parking on an early Sunday morning may be a bit tricky. But by the time we left around 10:30 there's plenty of parking.
