Tarn Taran District Magistrate has issued orders of various restrictions within 100m of all polling stations/booths during the election process on May 26.

The orders have been issued as per a letter issued by the State Election Commission concerning the elections for members of the Municipal Council Patti and Nagar Panchayat Bhikhiwind.

During this period, there will be a ban on the gathering/activities of five or more persons (other than voters standing in queues). Similarly, there will be a ban on campaigning or appealing for votes. No political party, candidate contesting the election will set up his booth/tent. No notice or sign related to the elections (other than the official notice) will be displayed. No poster/banner of political party/candidates related to the elections will be put up. The use of cellular phone/cordless phone/wireless set/loud speaker/etc. will be prohibited.
