PETALING JAYA: The results of the forensic audit on the PKR elections are expected to be presented by the party’s election committee on Sunday.

PKR election committee chairman Dr Zaliha Mustafa said the team of digital experts appointed to conduct the audit was preparing the report.

“Once the report is ready, the election committee will submit the names of the winners to the secretary-general’s office,” Berita Harian quoted her as saying.

Last Friday, Zaliha said the committee required more time to finalise the results after it enlisted digital experts to carry out a forensic audit.

PKR central committee member Abdullah Sani Abdul Hamid had said the party’s national congress, scheduled for June 24 to 26 in Shah Alam, has been postponed to July 15 to 17 pending the results of the forensic audit.

Zaliha said the secretary-general required the names of the winners so that invitations to congress delegates could be issued. She said the office needed up to 14 days to issue the invitations.

The forensic audit came after concerns were raised over the handling of the elections at some divisions.

Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, a former aide to PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, claimed that nearly 28,000 votes went “missing” during the party elections.

Actor-director Afdlin Shauki, who was defeated in his bid to become the Setiawangsa division chief, also claimed that 222 ballot papers were missing when the votes for the division were counted.
