Retired policewoman with ecstasy in car,  flees roadblock, crashes into two vehicles

POLICE found pills suspected of being ecstasy in the car of a retired policeman who fled for about 50km from a roadblock in Rembau, yesterday.

In the incident at about 10.30 pm, the 65-year-old woman is believed to have first crashed into two vehicles before fleeing towards Melaka.

Rembau District Deputy Police Chief, Deputy Superintendent Azmi Ali, said they received information about a Honda City car that crashed into another vehicle in Taman Sedia Raja, Chembong.

"Our personnel rushed to the location after being informed that the car that hit the vehicle had fled.

"While policemen were on their way to the location, they came across the car in question and tried to stop it, but the suspect refused to cooperate and fled," he said.

He said the suspect's vehicle was successfully stopped, and she was detained at Jalan Bukit Beruang, Melaka, at about 11.40 pm.

Further inspection of the suspect's car found a bag containing a transparent plastic packet containing four pills suspected to be ecstasy.

“The investigation found that the suspect was a retired police officer.

“Urine tests on the suspect revealed she was positive for amphetamines,” he said.

Azmi said further investigation found that the suspect's car was also involved in two road accidents in the Rembau district involving a Toyota Hiace and a Perodua Viva.

“There were no injuries to either driver involved in the accident,” he said.

He said the suspect is currently being detained at the Melaka Tengah IPD, and a remand application was made at the Ayer Keroh Magistrate's Court, Melaka. – May 12, 2026
