Kuala Lumpur: South Korean actor Cho Jin-woong (pic) is reportedly living in Malaysia after announcing his retirement from the entertainment industry following a controversy linked to his past.

According to The Star, the claim surfaced during an interview on the YouTube channel The Fact, where a South Korean citizen based in Malaysia alleged spotting the actor in public. The individual said the encounter was brief, leaving no time to capture any photo or video evidence.

Cho, 50, had earlier raised concern after disappearing from the public eye, cutting off contact with fellow artistes and becoming inactive on social media, fuelling speculation over his whereabouts.

In December last year, he became embroiled in controversy involving allegations of juvenile misconduct, including claims of sexual harassment. While he did not fully deny the accusations, he maintained that not all claims were accurate.

Following public backlash, Cho issued an apology and stepped away from the industry.

His reported presence in Malaysia has since sparked curiosity among fans, though there has been no official confirmation of his residence or future plans.
