
Kota Kinabalu: Some 70 ex-students who studied in Terengganu and Kelantan in the 1970s under Yayasan Sabah scholarship had a reunion dinner at a leading hotel, here, last Saturday.
The event, themed “Semarak Kasih”, involved former students of Sultan Sulaiman Secondary School and the Panji Alam Secondary School and the Zainab Secondary School.
The four-day programme also saw the participation of some ex-students from the peninsula, led by Dato’ Nasir Ibrahim Fikri. He jointly organised the programme with Sabah’s Begum Jan Abdullah.
The last time such reunion was held was in Terengganu in 2021, with the theme “Tautan Kasih”.
The dinner was officiated by Assemblywoman Datuk Amisah Yassin. Also present was retired High Court Judge Datuk Nurchaya Hj Arshad.
Earlier, the delegation from the peninsula was welcomed at the Kota Kinabalu airport by the organising committee.
Last Sunday, they visited the Gaya Street Fair before proceeding to Kundasang. On the way they stopped at Jambatan Tamparuli and Pekan Nabalu.
While in Kundasang and Ranau, they visited the Desa Cattle Farm, the Poring Hotsprings and the Fish Spa.
On the way back to Kota Kinabalu, they visited the Cabana Retreat in Kota Belud and the Saudah Happy Garden at Kampung Sangkir.
The visitors returned to Kuala Lumpur on Monday.
