Ajax are serious in their interest for Liverpool sporting director Julian Ward.
Ward has already confirmed he will be stepping down as the Reds' recruitment lead at the end of the season and has been linked to Ajax in recent days.
Offering an update on the situation via soccer news, De Telegraaf reporter Mike Verweij has stated Ward is 'very high' on Ajax's list and could become a director at Ajax.
Liverpool are said to have included a 12-month clause which prevents Ward from joining certain teams, presumed to be Premier League sides.
And Verweij has stated this 'does not apply' to the Netherlands.
