Tottenham star James Maddison was snubbed by Chelsea for a summer transfer.
The 27-year-old has impressed at the North London club since his arrival from Leicester City.
Maddison is helping to fill the void left by the departure of Harry Kane at Spurs this summer.
Per the Telegraph, Spurs could have been gazumped by Chelsea for Maddison.
He was eager to sign for the Blues, but their co-owner Todd Boehly turned him down.
Maddison's age was the issue, as Boehly's group are focused on signing players under-25.
