Manchester City fullback Yan Couto was a wanted man ahead of joining Girona this week.
The Brazilian has signed for the LaLiga new-boys on a season-long loan.
However, Couto wasn't short of options, with Brazilian reporter Jorge Nicola stating Olympique Marseille had been in talks with the player's agent about a move to France.
Porto and Olympiakos had also made contact this summer.
However, City chose to place Couto at Girona given the Catalans are owned by City Football Group.
