Newcastle United attempted to lure the younger brother of Jude Bellingham to the club.
Per The Mail, the Magpies were in contact with the family of Jobe Bellingham before he moved to Sunderland.
The attacking midfielder is a Black Cat and has been impressing in the Championship. Sunderland meet Newcastle in the FA Cup on Saturday.
However, the 18-year-old former Birmingham City prospect could already have been a Premier League player if things worked out differently.
The younger Bellingham already has four goals this season from a deeper position.
He is showing the type of quality that had top clubs around Europe keeping tabs on his progress.
