Manchester United and Real Madrid wanted Stefan Bajcetic before he moved to Liverpool.
The 18-year-old midfielder was on the books of Celta Vigo before signing for the Merseyside club.
He has since made his first debut and earned an improved contract.
Celta's academy director Alex Otero has revealed other clubs like United wanted Bajcetic but the player's father was keen on him going to Liverpool.
Otero said Real Madrid "went crazy" when they found it he was not going to sign for them.
