Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani threatened the Glazers with quitting the bidding process for Manchester United, it has been revealed.
The Financial Times says frustrated with the way he had been treated by the Glazers, Sheikh Jassim made a fifth final offer last week with the message he would walk away if the American family continued to remain hands off.
Both Sheikh Jassim and rival Sir Jim Ratcliffe had been left fed-up with the lack of communication from the Glazers as they made their offers.
The Qatari's threat appeared to kick the Glazers into action, with Aram Glazer seen at a London hotel owned by his father last week fueling talk of a meeting with Sheikh Jassim.
A decision over the sale is said to be due in days.
