Arsenal fullback Cedric Soares rejected a move to Benfica last week.
Cedric has found himself on the margins at Arsenal this season and was expected to leave last month.
Record says Benfica were keen to take the fullback on-loan for the remainder of the term.
However, the right-back himself chose to snub a move.
It's suggested Cedric eventually turned down Benfica due to his Sporting CP background.
