Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) demands that the title of Yang di-Pertua Negeri be reverted to Yang di-Pertua Negara as during the formation of Malaysia in 1963, in addition to continuing to seek the return of the Federal Territory of Labuan to Sabah.
Its President Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee said SAPP believed these would materialise one day.
His confidence is based on the success of Sabah Day on Aug. 31 being finally recognised and the success in getting the findings of the Double Six Tragedy on June 6, 1976 declassified after 47 years.
“These two issues that we have been fighting for were finally fulfilled last year and this year. For this reason, we are confident that other matters we are still fighting for will surely become reality,” he said, at the SAPP Biennial Delegates Conference at Putra Ballroom, Sunday.
