UiTM Holdings’ reported losses prompt management review
SHAH ALAM: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has instructed Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) to review the governance and management of UiTM Holdings following concerns over the company’s reported financial losses.
He said the review should be carried out in collaboration with the UiTM vice-chancellor to identify ways to strengthen the company’s management and performance.
Anwar also said the Prime Minister’s Department and his office were prepared to provide the necessary support and assistance throughout the process.
“Please look into UiTM Holdings and find ways to work together with the vice-chancellor.
“The Prime Minister’s Department and my office will provide the necessary cooperation and support,” he said.
Anwar was responding to an audience member who urged the government and the UiTM Malaysia Alumni Federation to review the management of UiTM Holdings, which the individual claimed had recorded losses of more than RM100 million.
