LABUAN: With the expanded Sales and Service Tax which now includes on most imported fruits the demand for cheaper local fruits is expected to soar as such premium durians which are the favourites of most Malaysian should be made available without restrictions.
“As Airlines serving domestic destination should also accordingly keep abreast of the times and do away with its prohibition of durians in the flights as this is unfairly denying many in states without premium variety of the fruit from enjoying,” said activist Lau Seng Kiat.
He said regulations were man-made and could be changed if it no longer suited with present situation.
