KOTA KINABALU: The Revitalising Bornion Centre Competition 2025, jointly organised by the Sabah Malaysian Institute of Architects (Pam), City Hall (DBKK), and the Luyang State Assemblyman Office, offers attractive prizes for the top three winners.

The first-of-its-kind collaboration between a local authority and a professional body of architects in Sabah aims to rejuvenate Bornion Centre into a people-oriented and economically vibrant community hub.

Fully funded by the Luyang State Assemblyman Office, the competition encourages innovative and sustainable designs that reflect local heritage while promoting modern urban living.

Sabah Pam chairman Daniel Koh said the initiative marks a milestone in bridging professional expertise, community needs, and governance, while Luyang assemblyman Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe said it showcases the creativity of local architects.

Registration opens on November 1 and closes on November 14, with winners to be announced during Chinese New Year 2026 — offering RM10,000, RM5,000, and RM3,000 for the top three spots, and RM1,000 each for five honorary mentions.
