TAWAU: A motorcyclist suffered a fractured finger after being thrown off his machine in a collision with a car at Batu 8, Jalan Apas, around 11.30am on Saturday.
A Daily Express journalist travelling on the same road witnessed the rider being flung into the air before landing on the central divider.
The journalist immediately alerted police and called the emergency services after noticing the rider appeared weak following the crash.
District police chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the 35-year-old motorcyclist was travelling straight from town towards Balung Cocos when the collision occurred with a car driven by a 53-year-old man.
He confirmed the rider injured his finger while the driver escaped unharmed, adding that investigations are under traffic regulations and urging motorists to exercise caution, particularly when making U-turns.
