Uma Ramasamy, yoga therapist, says breathing techniques can help in overcoming diseases.

The wonders of breathing techniques have cured many illnesses and diseases for centuries, which is the GOOD STUFF in life.

Yoga breathing techniques can help reduce blood pressure, drug addiction, stress, anxiety, and depression, according to Yoga Therapist and NLP Master Coach Uma Ramasamy.

She has been practising Yoga for more than 20 years, and her success stories helping people overcome diseases have also cured breathing difficulties with those having asthma and sinus problems.

“I have helped people cure sleeping disorders. Bipolar and autistic issues. I use various energising and relaxing breathing techniques like rapid and slow inhalation to increase oxygen uptake during breathing sessions. Oxygen is energy for your vital organs, including your brain and nerves.

“Practicing proper breathing has decreased snoring and daytime sleepiness. This has helped remove carbon dioxide and raised oxygen concentration, which fuels brain cells. This may contribute to mindfulness by improving focus and concentration.”

She added: “When you concentrate on your breathing, it can help calm your nervous system. This, in turn, may help reduce your stress response and risk of hypertension. Breathing properly is a good lung strengthening technique for curing asthma, allergic bronchitis, pneumonia and tuberculosis.”

According to research, she said that breathing the right way can promote relaxation and mindfulness. It’s also proven to support multiple aspects of physical health, including lung function, blood pressure, and brain function.

“Pranayama, or breath control, is a main component of yoga. It’s frequently practised with yoga postures and meditation. Pranayama aims to strengthen the connection between your body and mind. Everyone should spare a minimum of 15 to 20 minutes daily to improve their breathing styles for good health. A healthy mind and healthy body lead to a happy life,” said Uma, who conducts introductory and private sessions to teach breathing techniques.
