Ringgit opens higher against US dollar ahead of Q2 GDP data

Kuala Lumpur: The ringgit opened higher against the US dollar on Wednesday ahead of second quarter (Q2) gross domestic product (GDP) official data, slated to be released on Aug 14, an economist said.

At 8am, the local currency rose to 4.0895/4.0950 against the greenback from yesterday’s close of 4.0905/4.0940.
