(After being in Guangzhou during the Canton Fair, taking a train ride travelling at breakneck speed of 305 km/hr to Quanzhou to meet risk takers and flew in heavy storm to Shanghai to seek support for our innovation and flying back to KL in the early hours of the morning on Air Asia's fully loaded Airbus, we got a chance to listen to Rafizi's speech about embracing risk and finding unicorns.)

After dodging typhoons, high-speed trains, and overloaded planes, we sat down to hear Rafizi's take on risk-taking and innovation, and it was a rollercoaster of comedic errors.

The Economy Minister boldly called for Malaysians to embrace risk and innovation, poking fun at past policies that aimed for unicorn status without nurturing the seed and early stages of start-ups.

With a wry smile, Rafizi noted that a unicorn-producing ecosystem needs a solid foundation, not just dreams of mythical creatures.

He also joked about attracting venture capital, hinting that sovereign funds and financial firms should focus on supporting start-ups at all stages, not just when they are already soaring.

Rafizi's shift from unicorn obsession to ecosystem development drew chuckles, as he quipped about attracting people from around the world, perhaps hinting at Malaysia's own unicorn-hunting expeditions.

In closing, Rafizi urged Malaysians to embrace risk for a prosperous future, painting a picture of a nation brimming with risk-seekers.

But, as Rafizi painted this picture of a risk-taking utopia, one could not help but wonder if Malaysians are truly ready for the wild ride he is proposing.

As Rafizi's words settle in, one thing is for sure—his unicorn hunt has turned into a comedy of errors, leaving us wondering if the punchline will be prosperity or peril.
