River Plate remains an option for departing Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez.
AS says Suárez would join the Buenos Aires-based club to fill the position left by Julian Álvarez who is about to leave for Manchester City.
If the deal does materialise, it would see Suárez return to South America 16 years after leaving Uruguayan club Nacional for Ajax.
Suarez has been linked with clubs in Europe, including Sevilla, Fiorentina and Aston Villa.
Now, at the age of 35, he coming towards the end of a successful career but has one eye on this year's World Cup with Uruguay in Qatar.
