
Kota Kinabalu: South Korean company SK Nexilis has hit a milestone with the first shipment of copper foil from its plant here Monday.
Its Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP) plant is the company’s first overseas production base. SK Nexilis produces 15 per cent of the global copper foils for electric vehicle (EV) batteries.
Witnessing the event, Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Minister Phoong Jin Zhe said the achievement is momentous for Sabah, significantly boosting the efforts to turn it into an industrial and export-based state.
SK Nexilis has produced 80 tonnes of copper foil for the first shipment with an export value of RM1.9 million.
