
Kota Kinabalu: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zahid Hamidi announced a RM1 million allocation for key infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving the quality of life for residents in Putatan.
“A sum of RM500,000 will be allocated for elevator improvements, while another RM500,000 will go towards upgrading the water tank system for the betterment of residents in the area,” Zahid told a Sentuhan Kasih Madani Programme and presentation of appointment letters to Kemas Community Chairmen at the State Parliamentary level.
He noted that in today’s rapidly changing world, communities must not be left behind but be at the forefront of driving progress for both the state and the nation.

On the economic front, Zahid announced a significant RM1.11 billion allocation for rural development initiatives in Sabah. The funding will be directed towards the construction of rural roads, small bridges, electricity supply, and alternative water systems.
On education, Zahid emphasised the importance of early childhood education in rural areas, particularly through the upgrading of Taska, Tabika, and Rural Community Centres.
