PAPAR: Sabah has marked a milestone in human capital development with the groundbreaking of the RM130.6 million Akademi Binaan Malaysia (ABM) Sabah campus in Beringgis.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the new 34-acre campus will strengthen opportunities for Sabah’s youth in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), especially in the construction sector.
Equipped with modern facilities, the campus will accommodate up to 700 trainees at a time, boosting training capacity by 73 per cent compared with the temporary campus in Kayu Madang, Kota Kinabalu.
Hajiji said the project supports the Sabah Maju Jaya blueprint and will not only create skilled workers but also provide economic benefits for Papar, while raising Sabah’s profile as a competitive TVET hub.
He added that partnerships with industry players would ensure job opportunities for graduates, and expressed hope that the campus would nurture future TVET icons who can represent Sabah on the global stage.
