SHAH ALAM, Sept 13 - The main route in Bandar Country Homes is set to be upgraded through the Jalan B27 project, valued at an estimated of RM130 million, to facilitate smoother travel for residents to Rawang town.
Rawang assemblyman Chua Wei Kiat said the project, expected to commence around 2026 or 2027, involves the B27 route located in front of AEON Bandar Country Homes.
Chua said the upgrade is expected to benefit residents of Bandar Country Homes and Sungai Bakau in particular, as they rely on this route as a primary access point to Rawang town.
The project is one of five new initiatives planned for the area, alongside improvements to sports facilities, the development of a modern market, and the provision of community spaces.
"Once completed, the journey from Country Homes and Sungai Bakau to Rawang Town which usually takes 20 to 30 minutes is expected to be shortened to just around 10 minutes.
"This will certainly make daily commutes easier for residents," he said in a Facebook post.
Chua also said that a sum of RM50,000 has been allocated to upgrade the Phase 2 basketball court.
The project is expected to commence this year, to provide better sports facilities, the space can also be utilised for various local association and community activities.
At the same time, RM250,000 has been allocated to provide sports facilities for senior citizens and to upgrade the volleyball court in Phase 4.
These efforts aim to provide safer and more comfortable sports areas for residents, while also to revamp the volleyball court so it can once again be enjoyed by the local community.
Chua also said an allocation of RM50,000 is reserved for the ventilation system on the upper floor of the Bandar Country Homes Modern Market, to create a more comfortable environment for visitors.
"The area tends to get quite hot and suffers from poor ventilation-an issue frequently raised by residents, especially senior citizens who use the space to dine and rest after shopping," he added.
Chua added that Bandar Country Homes residents would also gain access to additional space for community activities via the Kota Emerald Community Hall (located next to Garland 2), which is now open for rental.
Residents can use this facility for various community activities, thereby increasing the options available for hosting local programmes.
Chua also said all these initiatives are part of an ongoing effort to ensure that development in the Bandar Country Homes area directly benefits the residents.
"We will tackle these initiatives one by one.
"It is not just about projects and figures; what matters most is that these improvements make life easier for residents, provide greater comfort, and make our area more active and vibrant," he added.
