LAHAD DATU: The Marine Police Force (MPF) seized 76 tonnes of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) worth an estimated RM2.33 million in an operation at an unnumbered premises in Batu 15, Jalan Lahad Datu-Kinabatangan, on Friday.

In the 11.40am operation, the team discovered a tanker and a van in the premises suspected of being used to store the illegal CPO.

Sabah (Region Four) Marine Police Commander ACP Mohd Nazri Ibrahim said during the joint operation with the Malaysian Palm Oil Board, four individuals aged between 29 and 53 were detained to assist in further investigations.

The team also seized two trailers, a van, a fuel tank as well as various tools, including pumps, believed used to carry out the misappropriation activities.

“Investigation will be carried out under the Regulation 5(1)(d) of Malaysian Palm Oil Board Regulations 2005,” he said.

He added that the marine police was committed in combating smuggling and criminal activities for the safety and wellbeing of the country.
