PAPAR: Kampung Kaiduan has been selected by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) as a Madani Foster Village.

KPDN Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said with the selection Kampung Kaiduan would receive a special development allocation of RM2.5 million provided by the Federal Government.

According to him, the Madani Government has allocated RM100 million for the programme, and each federal ministry is asked to select any village in the country as a Madani Foster Village.

“Kampung Kaiduan was chosen as a Madani Foster Village because aside from being close to my heart, this village also has potential due to its focus on eco-tourism, thanks to its natural beauty and flora.

Armizan, who is also Papar Member of Parliament, said his Ministry would discuss with the village community their needs regarding the special allocation to improve essential development and the socio-economic status of the residents.

At the same time, he said KPDN would also consider suggestions and recommendations from the village community, including continuing any existing development programmes that have been planned.

“I will listen to the residents’ suggestions and views on their needs, whether they are physical infrastructure or socio-economic programmes that can use the RM2.5 million allocation.

“I hope that with the selection of Kampung Kaiduan as KPDN’s Madani Foster Village, we can help develop this area and thus achieve the targeted objectives,” he said. – Iskandar Dzulkifli
