
NABAWAN: The construction of a new classroom building and teacher’s quarters for SMK Nabawan costing RM26.45 million would start at the end of this year, said Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup.
He said this is to replace the old quarters building and some RM4 million of the total allocation had been allocated for the implementation of preliminary works.
“The scope of project includes the construction of a new building of 12 classrooms as well as other facilities and a replacement block of teacher’s quarters (eight units) in the school.
“The construction of these 12 classrooms will provide more comfort to Form Six students and teachers of SMK Nabawan, where before they occupied the temporary building at SK Pekan Nabawan due to the lack of classrooms,” he said when officiating the Convocation Ceremony of the Form Six of SMK Nabawan Session 2021 /2022 at the school.

He said learning environment plays an important role in guaranteeing the effectiveness of teaching and learning, allowing students to focus more on learning.
In the meantime, in conjunction with the convocation ceremony, Arthur congratulated the former Form Six students for their excellent achievements. He hoped the graduates as well as the natives of Pensiangan would be able to join him in sprouting ideas and thoughts to jointly develop Pensiangan.
