RM45,000 jewellery theft: Four held in Tawau

TAWAU: Four suspects, including two women, suspected of stealing RM45,000 worth of jewellery on Oct 1 at Jalan OKK Abu Bakar, were arrested on Tuesday.

District Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the jewellery belonged to a 31-yaer-old man who put in a car when it was found missing.

“The victim made a police report when he found a gold bracelet, gold necklace and gold pendant worth RM45,000 missing from his car,” said Jasmin.

He said the first suspect, a 42-year-old man, was arrested at 6am at the roadside of Kg Pukat, Tanjung Batu Laut, which led to the arrest of the second suspect, a 30-year-old woman at 1.20pm at Hospital Tawau.

Read more The third suspect, a 28-year-old woman, was arrested at 3pm at Kg Pukat, Jalan Tanjung Batu Laut, on the same day.

“Another 32-year-old man was arrested at 6pm at Hospital Tawau,” said Jasmin.

All the suspects were brought to IPD Tawau for further action and investigation under Section 379 of the Panel Code.
